コンセプト

このブローチは、笹木敦子が探求し続ける「彫刻と身に纏うアートの境界」をテーマとした作品です。

羊の原毛を、伝統的なウェットフェルト技法を用いて一点一点手作業で立体成形しています。

水と石鹸、圧力、そして何千回にも及ぶ手の動きを重ねることで、継ぎ目のない立体へと姿を変えていきます。

色彩は成形後に一点ずつ手染めで施されるため、同じものは二つとして存在しません。

ドローイングから生まれた線や有機的なかたちを、羊毛という素材で小さな身に纏う彫刻へと昇華しました。

アクセサリーとして身に着けるだけではなく、日々の暮らしに寄り添う「小さな彫刻」として存在することを目指しています。

Concept

This brooch is part of Atsuko Sasaki’s ongoing exploration of the boundary between sculpture and wearable art.

Each piece is hand-sculpted from raw sheep’s wool using the traditional wet-felting technique. Through water, soap, pressure, and thousands of hand movements, the loose fibers are transformed into a seamless three-dimensional form.

After the sculptural form is completed, each piece is individually hand-dyed, ensuring that no two works are ever alike.

Inspired by drawings and organic forms, Sasaki transforms wool into a small wearable sculpture.

More than an accessory, each brooch is intended to exist as a small sculpture that quietly accompanies everyday life.
