Concept

約100年前のドイツ製アンティークドールヘッドに、羊毛フェルトによる新たな身体を与えました。

異なる時代を生きた素材がひとつになることで、時間は直線ではなく、静かに重なり合います。

羊毛は古くから人の暮らしとともにあり、手の記憶を宿す素材です。

失われた身体は、新しい命ではなく、新たな時間として立ち現れます。

過去と現在、その「あわい」に生まれる存在をかたちにしています。

Technique

すべての作品は、まずドローイングから始まります。

完成形を描いた後、その線やフォルムをもとに、羊の原毛を一房ずつ丁寧に重ね、立体の輪郭を築いていきます。

そこへ石鹸水を含ませることで羊毛の繊維を開かせ、手だけを使って何万回にも及ぶ摩擦と圧力を繰り返します。時間をかけて繊維同士を絡み合わせることで、縫製や接着、型を用いることなく、継ぎ目のない一体の立体へと成形しています。

完成後は一点ずつ手染めを施し、それぞれの作品に固有の色彩と深みを与えています。

絵画から生まれた線は、羊毛という太古から人とともに歩んできた素材を通して、彫刻へと姿を変えます。

Concept

This work combines a German antique doll head, created nearly a century ago, with a newly sculpted body made from wool felt.

When materials from different eras come together, time no longer moves in a straight line—it quietly overlaps.

Wool, a material that has accompanied human life for thousands of years, carries the memory of countless hands.

The lost body is not replaced; it is transformed into a new passage of time.

These sculptures exist in the space between past and present, where memory continues to take shape.

Technique 

Every work begins as a drawing.

Once the final form has been conceived on paper, tufts of raw sheep’s wool are carefully layered by hand to establish the sculpture’s volume and contours.

Warm soapy water is then applied to open the wool fibers, allowing them to interlock through tens of thousands of hand-rubbing motions. Using only water, soap, pressure, and the artist’s hands, each work is slowly transformed into a seamless three-dimensional form—without stitching, glue, molds, or internal armatures.

After the sculptural form is complete, every piece is individually hand-dyed, giving each work its own unique depth, nuance, and presence.

The lines that begin as drawings are transformed into sculpture through wool—a material that has accompanied human life since ancient times.
